Scything Workshop with Ralf Benner

An early start with students for an introduction to scything with Ralf Benner from Ruhrpottsense.

The session connected to the fact that the land in front of the main building has recently been turned into a biodiversity meadow, and to the annual student project "Das Grosse Kunstabschlussprojekt" where collectivity and self-organisation lead to a public presentation.

The meadow became our site, the land under our feet received attention, scything was introduced as a traditional and sustainable technique, and the movement and collective joy that comes with scything led to the development of the final performance.

Thank you to ralk for stretching the format of a scything workshop, and for introducing with great compassion and calmness the sheer intelligence of this tool.
